JW Marriott Bangkok Hotel with New Director of Sales and Marketing

Bangkok (Thailand) – November 4, 2019 (travelindex.com) – Years of extensive hotel experience at a range of international locations, Dongwoon Kim (DK) will oversee sales and marketing plus revenue generation. His scope is not only to implement new business models but also to develop the new accounts and maintain existing ones at the newly renovated 441-rooms property. He will also help build up the team spirit and consistently inspire sales and marketing team and other departments at the property.

A Korean national, DK joins JW Marriott Hotel Bangkok from his prior role as Director of Sales & Marketing at Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon, Vietnam. Here he and his team performed beyond expectations, completing an all “K” Balance Scorecard for 2018 and for YTD 2019. Additionally, under his management and teamwork, they generated impressive YOY growth figures for 2018/2019 for RevPAR, ADR, Premium Paid Occupancy and individual guest segment growth (Retail, Corporate). In recognition of his achievements, DK was honored as a “Sales Special Achievement Leader in APEC, 2018”, during the BMSC Conference in Shanghai earlier this year.

DK graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Honolulu with a Bachelor of Science in Travel Industry Management. With his passion for hospitality, he has held several leadership roles at prestigious properties around the world including Director of Sales at the Grand Hyatt Guangzhou/China and the position of Associate Director at the same hotel. Other sales positions have been at the Hyatt Regency Jing Jin City Resort & Spa in Tianjin, China; the Hyatt Regency Xi’an, China; management trainee at the Sheraton Waikiki and the Royal Hawaiian by Starwood in Honolulu, Hawaii.

DK is married to Diane and has a five-year-old daughter, Ella. He loves spending time with his family and is interested in modern arts.
